Recent stories by and about Ben Hosken

How I met Joe McCarthy

Joe was working at Andersen Consulting’s R&D group when I was lucky enough to get transferred there for 3 months in 1997.

Joe was the most positive can do guy there and while I didn’t appreciate it then, I do now.

He was one of those guys who make sure the group is working well and a great “team player” ??

How I met Claire Robertson

Claire won the bloggie for best australian blog in 2002 and I saw her blog and found she had a post office box nearby; after emailing her I realised I’d met her husband before but couldn’t place him. Apparently I’d interviewed him for a job a while back.

So Phil and I met for coffee and Claire dropped by to say hello. There was plenty in common among us all and now I count her as one of my best friends.

Why I like Ben Hosken

Ben is a friendly, helpful guy – and it is through the miracle of the interweb that we have come to know each other. When we were just getting started with 43 Things, Ben was there to help us test it. He got in touch and we had a chance to share stories about personalization, recommendations, and being a dad. I came to feel like I had someone cheering on the Robot Co-op from Australia, and that is a great feeling to have. Ben came through Seattle a couple weeks ago and we got to meet in person.

Ben’s a smart, hard working entrepreneur and I’m glad to say “I know him”. Hopefully I get to call on him in Melbourne someday. Rock on Mr. Hosken!

How I met Todd Gehman

I met Todd at the Robot Co-op office this morning. Didn’t get to talk to him beyond hello but he struck me as a “super cool geek” type. He really stood out….maybe because he had more hair than Josh and Daniel ;-)

How I met Ben Hosken

Ben was in Seattle to meet a client—he stopped by the Co-op today to say hello. As one of our earliest 43T users, it was a pleasure meeting Ben.

If he indeed wants to start soldering then I want to make sure he knows about tinning. I was lost until a friend showed me the simple art of tinning the contacts you are aiming to solder together.
